Applying for a Certificate with CHFA is quick and easy. Simply follow the step-by-step guide below. If you have any questions about the certificate program, please contact: certificates@chfa.ca. Applicants that are new to the process are encouraged to contact CHFA to discuss their specific requirements. .

1. Determine which type of certificate you require (International Trade Certificates (ITCs) for Natural Health Products, International Trade Certificates of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Compliance, Certificate of Free Sale for Natural Health Products, or Certificate of Free Sale for Cosmetics).

4. An authorized company official must prepare a cover letter on company letterhead that attests that the information provided in the application(s) is accurate and truthful. The letter should also outline the following:

At CHFA's discretion, the company may also be requested to have the attestation letter sworn before a Notary.

5. If you are applying for an International Trade Certificate for Natural Health Products or GMP Compliance, your application package must include a copy of the valid and most recent Site Licence.

If you are applying for a Certificate of Free Sale as a new customer, your application package must include two invoices issued to a Canadian client within the previous 12 months as documentary proof of your product's sale and distribution within Canada. These invoices will be destroyed upon issuance of the Certificates or can be kept on file for repeat use, upon your instructions.
